What is DTI (Debt-to-Income Ratio)?

DTI is a key financial metric that compares your monthly debt payments to your gross monthly income. Lenders use this ratio to assess your ability to manage monthly payments and determine your loan eligibility. A lower DTI indicates better financial health and higher loan approval chances.

DTI Formula
DTI = (Total Monthly Debt Payments ÷ Gross Monthly Income) × 100
